The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology organized a workshop in which Assist. Prof. Dr. Ivan A. Hashim and Dr. Odai Ali Ahmed lectured about registration in the research sites accredited within the global repositories, which is one of the requirements to enter the global classifications.

The workshop highlighted the creation of the four scientific research sites associated with the global repositories, Google Scholar, ORCID, Publons and Researcherid, which are essential requirement for entering the international classifications. It has been practically explained to the attendees how to add scientific research in these containers, especially ORCID, which is the main site through which the rest of the research sites are linked with as well as how to transfer researches and researchers' information between the four sites. The workshop was attended by the Scientific Deputy of the department, the Heads of Scientific Branches and a group of teaching staff.

The first meeting of the Industrial Advisory Board for the academic year 2018/2019 was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Council, Assistant Professor Dr. Dari Yousef Mahmoud, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department and the presence of the board members representing number of State's foundations in the Ministries of Electricity, Defense, Interior, Communications, Industry and Science and Technology with the leading scientific staff of the department.
During the meeting, they studied and discussed a large number of issues that contribute to the development of the curricula of both undergraduate and postgraduate studies and directing them to solve the problems in the field of work based on the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Presidency of the university to raise the international quality standards for the curriculum of the department. In addition, they discussed the possibility of benefiting from the advanced scientific staff in the above ministries to supervise the postgraduate students in the department following the instructions of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Besides, the board discussed number of issues in the interest of both parties to contribute and enhance the reputation of the University of Technology and Higher Education.
