As part of the cultural season in the Department of Electrical Engineering, a workshop titled ‘Performance Study of Active Power Factor Correction for Bridge Rectifier’ was conducted. The workshop was delivered by Dr. Jassim Farhood Hussein and took place in the Dijla Hall on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. The workshop covered an introduction to this type of rectifier, which is commonly used in electrical power systems and has various applications. Additionally, the workshop delved into the theoretical and practical aspects of assessing the performance of these rectifiers and how to optimize their efficiency. This knowledge contributes to enhancing power factor. Several faculty members and department affiliates attended the workshop, and a discussion was opened at the end of the lecture to address any inquiries.
