Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayad Ibrahim Abbas and Lecturer Mohamed Ihsan Safi participated in the course of the Second International Conference on Advanced Science and Engineering (IUG) (ICOASE-2019) for the period from 2-4 April 2019. The research is entitled:
Using Wavelet Technology to Reduce the Size of the Face Database and its Effect on Face Recognition Rate
The researches dealt with the possibility of reducing the size of the database by 75% by using the first level of the wavelet technology and then distinguishing the face using the basic component analyzer technique to achieve a 98% distinction. This ratio is considered to be highly efficient for the reduction amount of database size.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Muntadar Sami Shaker of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Branch of Electronic Engineering published a research in the field of control engineering in the international journal: (IET Control Theory & Applications) published by: (IET, The Institution of Engineering and Technology). The journal is considered a high-quality international journal with an impact factor of (3.296) according to the world ranking Clarivate Analytics (The Former Thomson Reuters).
The research dealt with the design of a control system capable of achieving the sustainable performance of nonlinear systems with faults affecting the performance of actuators and sensors. The proposed system has been employed to provide the controller with signals that reflect the condition of the fault so that the controller can handle the impact of the faults and ensure advanced performance. Within this context, the contribution of research to the literature of sustainable control is that the proposed system provides a solution to the problem of complexity in the design of sustainable control systems.
Research title:

Within the activities of the scientific and cultural activities of the second semester of the Department of Electrical Engineering for the academic year 2017-2018, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hadeel Nasrat Abdullah, Dr. Najat Hader Khalaf, Lecturer Faten Fakhry Khazal and Mr. Majid Ahmed Ali delivered a lecture entitled (Procedural Methods: Control and Record Keeping) in the hall of the Dijla with the presence of the Head of the Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Dari Yuosuf Mahmoud, both Scientific and Administrative Deputies, Heads of Scientific Branches and number of teaching staff and employees of the Department.

The seminar tackled the importance of this procedure by controlling the documents and records necessary to manage the quality of the educational labs in terms of their approval prior to issuance, modification and circulation, in addition to the ease of diagnosis and prevention of the use of cancellations, as well as determining the results of laboratory quality applications responsible for the record and duration of retention. At the end of the seminar, discussion, answers to questions and inquiries were allowed.
