Classical Poetry Competition

     

 

 

 

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghuban, and in the presence of the department head, Dr. Jabbar Khalaf Mohammed, and the administrative assistant, Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal, the Student Activities Department held the final competition of classical poetry (Risālat al-Shiʿr) in the Dijlah Hall within the department. Seven student poets from various university departments participated in the competition, showcasing their poetic abilities and creativity in classical, free, and prose poetry. At the conclusion of the competition, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the top three students.

Artistic Creations Exhibition

     

 

 

 

Under the patronage of the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Farhad Mohammed Osman, and in the presence of the department head, Dr. Jabbar Khalaf Mohammed, and the administrative assistant, Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal, the Department of Student Activities inaugurated the Artistic Creations Exhibition for department students. This event was organized in collaboration with the Student Activities Department and took place on Tuesday, March 6, 2024. The exhibition showcased diverse artistic works, including painting, calligraphy, sculpture, and music. The exhibited creations demonstrated the excellence and creativity of the department’s students,

celebrating love for the homeland, nature, and life, while also reflecting the university’s role in serving the community.
The exhibition received great acclaim and a clear turnout from attendees, who expressed their pride and admiration for these artistic achievements. They commended the efforts and talents of the students in both the artistic and scientific domains. At the conclusion of the event, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants .

Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Hassan Ali, from the University of Technology / Department of Electrical Engineering, participated as a lecturer in a group of experts and trainers from Iraqi universities in the fourth training course for preparing instructors in modern teaching methods. The course focused on updating teaching methodologies towards integrated learning.


During the course, a series of lectures were delivered both in person and electronically as part of the curriculum organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, specifically by the Department of Studies, Planning, and Monitoring. The course spanned an entire month and was hosted by the University of Kufa in Najaf Al-Ashraf Governorate. The in-person component of the course was conducted over two separate weeks.


The topics covered during the course included concepts and strategies related to teaching and learning processes using modern and technology-enhanced educational systems. Additionally, the foundational pillars for enhancing education in Iraqi universities were emphasized. These pillars encompassed fundamental concepts of education, instructional design, assessment, evaluation, facilitation strategies, digital content development, educational quality, professional ethics, scientific publishing, and research methodology.

The National Tree Planting Day

     

 

 

 

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghuban, and on the occasion of National Tree Planting Day, the Department of Electrical Engineering organized a voluntary campaign to plant trees in the department’s gardens. The event took place on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Jabbar Khalaf Mohammed, the head of the Electrical Engineering Department, and with the participation of faculty members, staff, and students from the department. The initiative aimed to enhance green spaces by planting over 100 seedlings in both the front and rear gardens of the department. This effort contributes to sustainable development and promotes a green environment within the university and the department
