As per the scientific activities of the Department of Electrical Engineering and its productive interaction with government ministries and departments, the department organized a scientific trip for fourth-year students in the Electrical Engineering branch to the General Company for Electricity Production in the Central Region, specifically to the South Baghdad Gas Power Station (Station II). This trip took place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, under the supervision of several professors and engineers from the department.
During the visit, the students were acquainted with the station’s operations, including insights into the actual load requirements of the national Iraqi network. They also learned how to handle increased energy demand, address network congestion, and manage potential faults. The station’s director, Engineer Hazem Rasam Al-Saadi, along with other working engineers, warmly received the supervisors and students.
At the conclusion of the visit, the students and their supervisors expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the dedicated efforts that contributed to the success of this visit, fostering scientific collaboration between the university and state institutions
