The Department of Electrical Engineering participated in the activities of the scientific symposium of the Department of Communications Engineering, entitled "Internet of Things and Communications" on Tuesday, 12/12/2017. The participation was attended by the Head of the Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Dari Youssef Mahmoud, the Scientific and Administrative Deputies, the Heads of the Scientific Branches and a number of teachers of the department, and the participation was represented by heading Prof. Dr. Hanan Abdel Redha the first session of the symposium and heading Assist. Prof. Dr. Rashid Hamid Al - Rubaie the second session of the symposium. At the end of the symposium, certificates were awarded to the chairpersons.

Within the activities of the scientific and cultural activities of the first semester of the Department of Electrical Engineering for the academic year 2017-2018, Dr. Mohamed Mounis Ezzeddine Ali and Dr. Mohamed Khudair Abd casted a lecture entitled "Performance Indicator and Rubric" on the hall of Degla in the presence of the Head of Electrical Engineering Assist. Prof. Dr. Dari Yousif Mahmoud, Scientific and Administrative Deputies, Heads of Scientific Branches and a number of teachers and employees of the department.

The workshop presented a way to assess the extent to which students acquire skills and abilities based on the performance index and measure and the presentation of the method of preparing the ABET table. At the end of the seminar, discussion and answers to questions and inquiries were opened.

Within the activities of scientific and cultural activity for the first semester of the Department of Electrical Engineering for the academic year 2017-2018, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hadi Tarash Ziboon, Mr. Jaber Hameed Majeed and Mr. Muhannad Yousif Muhsin casted a lecture entitled "Software Defined Radio New Trend in Implementation of the Advanced Systems" in the Hall of Dajla in the presence of the Head of Electrical Engineering Department Assist. Prof. Dr.Dari Yousif Mahmoud, Scientific and Administrative deputies and Heads of Scientific Branches and a number of teachers and employees of the department

The seminar focused on the innovative technology with unique features in terms of flexibility, accuracy, small size and cost, through which the generations of modern communication systems that will be developed in the future (G4, G5, G6, G7) are designed and implemented. Software defined radio relies on the use of software and is uploaded into the information processing units. At the end of the seminar, discussion and answers to questions and inquiries were opened.

Under the patronage and presence of Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the President of the University of Technology, the Department of Electrical Engineering participated in the graduation ceremony of the students of the University of Technology for the forty second batch. The batch (Liberation and Building) for the academic year 2016-2017 on Thursday 21/12/2017 at the University Gardens. The participation of the department was attended by the Head of the Department Dr. Dari Yousif Mahmoud, the Assistants, the Heads of the Scientific Branches, members of the department council, and number of faculty members and graduate students who are 134 graduates for the first and second terms in the fields of electrical engineering, electronic engineering and communications engineering. The bachelor's degree was awarded to graduates, the university oath was recited and the first graduates were honored, each according to its engineering specialization, with an atmosphere of joy and pleasure by graduates, teaching staff and graduates' families.
The student Hassan Fawaz Hamid is the first superior to the university and the department with the grade of excellence, student Omar Khudair is the second superior to the section with the grade of very good and student Ahmed Abbas Ali the third superior with the grade of very good.

A Faculty Member at Department of Electrical Engineering Prof. Dr. Hanan A. R. Akkar presented a seminar entitled: (Science Day Award) at AL- Rafidien Hall at Department of Electrical Engineering in 8/12/2017. The importance of science day award has been explained in details with the main instructions and conditions, in addition  to the electronics registration procedure.
