Assist. Prof. Dr. Raed Thaaban Hamad, the lecturer at the University of Technology Department of Electrical Engineering, was selected as member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal published in Malaysia entitled:

Progress of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

On Thursday, December 6, 2018, and at Dijla Hall in the department at 9:00 am, the student (Haidar Yousef Karim) defended his master's thesis entitled:

(Modeling and Analysis of the Iraqi Capacity Devices FACTS in the Iraqi Power System)

The debate committee consisted of: Assist. Prof. Dr. Dari Yousif Mahmoud, chairman, Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal, member, Dr. Nasrallah Salman Khalaf, member and Assist. Prof. Dr. Rashid Hameed Al-Rubaie, supervisor and member.
This thesis investigated and improved the stability of electrical voltages by installing the FACTS in their ideal locations under different emergency conditions such as overload, line breakage as well as reducing energy generated. Where the stability of electrical voltages play a key role in electrical power systems to meet the required load.
At the end of the debate, the thesis was accepted with minor modifications and the student received a M.Sc. degree.
