The Head of the Department Dr. Dari Yousef Mahmoud has met the postgraduate students of the research stage of the doctoral and master studies on Thursday, 23/11/2017 and in the presence of the Scientific Deputy Dr. Abbas Hussein Issa.
During the meeting, they reviewed the students' problems and the obstacles facing them during the research plan and the percentage of completion of their researches and urged them to complete the requirements of the study within the timelines set for them with the need to follow up with the department and supervising teachers to overcome the difficulties and provide the necessary requirements to complete their studies as soon as possible to contribute to the march of scientific expertise and qualified scientific and academic excellence to serve the scientific march of our dear country.

Within the actions of the scientific and cultural activities for the first semester of the Department of Electrical Engineering for the academic year 2016-2017, the Head of Electrical Engineering Department, Dr. Dari Yousef Mahmoud delivered a seminar entitled "Smart Networks are Future Networks" on Thursday, 16/11/2017. Scientific and Administrative Deputies, Heads of Branches, teachers and members of the department attended the seminar.

The seminar examined the smart networks, which represent a new generation electric system, which is considered high degree of integration of traditional networks and modern technologies such as advanced communication systems, remote sensing systems and digital systems to control the consumption of devices in homes, save energy, reduce costs and increase reliability of networks.

The Administrative Deputy, Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal, met with the students of the first stage admitted to the Department of Electrical Engineering for the academic year 2017-2018 / evening study. The Administrative Deputy, at the beginning of the meeting, wished them a successful university life and scientific excellence to be students and builders that are able to take the responsibility dumped on their shoulders to serve our dear country.

The students were also briefed on a set of laws, regulations and university regulations concerning the discipline of students and uniforms, and the relationship of the student with the educational institution in which they are studying, their colleagues and their teachers, and distributed a profile containing a brief about the department and its vision, mission and goals. The students were then taken on a guided tour that included corridors, halls, laboratories and the library of the department.

The Representative of the Religious authority in Al-Kadhimiya (Al-Yasin Mosque) honored the superior students in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology for the academic year 2016-2017 with gifts and certificates of appreciation. Administrative Deputy, Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal attended as representative of the department.
This event was during the 12th Annual Minds Festival to honor the superior students that was held in the holy city of Kadhimiya on Wednesday, 18/10/2017. The honors included the students of the superior class Shatha Hani Jassim Mohammed and Mohammed Osama Sobhi Jabbar of the first stage, Ahmed Mohammed Abdul Wahid Abdul-Saheb and Hussein Jabbar Ali Mohammed of the second stage, Ahmed Abdul Karim Farhan and Ali Abdul Nabi of the third stage and Hussein Jabbar Abd Harej and Omar Khudair Abd Zaid of the fourth stage.

The Head of Department, Dr. Dari Yousef Mahmoud, met with the students of the first stage of the Electrical Engineering department for the academic year 2017-2018 for the morning study. The head of the department welcomed them at the beginning of the meeting and wished them a successful academic life to be true students and builders capable of bearing the responsibility placed on them to serve our dear country. 

The meeting was also attended by Administrative Deputy Dr. Kanaan Ali and the Head of the Educational Extension Unit Dr. Sundus Dhamad and the Director of the Registration Department who expressed their welcome to the students in their new university life, which represents the stage of building and forming the personality in which the student's personality is refined in line with the nature of the engineering study.
