Firas M. Ali was born in Baghdad, Iraq in December of 1972. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Baghdad in 1994 and 1997, respectively. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in electronics and communication engineering from the University of Technology in 2021. He was employed as a senior lecturer at the Polytechnic Higher Institute of Yefren, Libya from November 1999 to August 2011. He has then been appointed as a teaching staff member at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Technology, Iraq since December 2011. His main research interests include the design and implementation of RF power amplifiers, oscillators, and microwave active circuits for modern communication systems. He published more than 25 technical papers in different local and international conferences and journals. Dr. Firas is an IEEE member.
